I always had it on my bucket list to see the spectacular Fastnet Lighthouse and thanks to the great @lianamodonova, I finally had the opportunity to go and see it. I don’t think I was fully prepared to be in such awe. It was incredibly spirtual to see this place and I couldn’t take my eyes away from it. The lighthouse was completed in 1904 and every granite block used was individually cut and shaped to fit a precise location in the tower!! ‘Hooly at the Cross’ is a throwback to the day the pubs reopened after the covid lockdown. I miss that old tollbooth with that beautiful mural so much! I have another one in the series as well which is taken from the other side of the road called ‘Celebration at the Cross’. The gorgeous Kingfisher mural by @curtis_hylton on Lavitt’s Quay. During that heatwave, I was enjoying a beautiful pint of @kinnegar in The Bierhaus on Pope’s Quay when I looked across the river and remembered this mural was here. I’d kind of forgotten about it for years but it’s still one of my all time favourites in Cork.
It’s been over 4 months since I posted last and god did I love not having the pressure of having to post! 😅 In that time, I was meant to ‘rest’ but clearly I have no concept of what that word even means as I have managed to get involved in the biggest project of my life! More on that later in the year but it’s insanely exciting and can’t wait to share it all with you 😝 Whatever the case I am back again with my latest print ‘Shandon Sorbet’, thanks to @bricafgoa for this genius name! It’s of course Cork’s iconic Shandon Bells which you all know I am obsessed and the sole reason for me moving to Cork in the first place!
